Flight arrival. Meet and greet by IPT‘s multilingual assistants. Luggage transfers directly to hotel. Guests transfer to the world renowned Blue lagoon en route to Reykjavik, relaxing after a long flight, receiving a special welcome cocktail in the lagoon‘s warm waters.
On arrival at your hotel, keycards are quickly handed out, minimal paperwork and access to rooms is immediate. Dinner in the evening at a nearby restaurant.
Discover the Borgarfjördur region, rich in history and natural phenomea. Waterfalls, natural hot springs and glaciers. Board a monster truck for a drive to the summit of the Langjökull glacier at an altitute of around 1250 metres. Enter the glacier through a long tunnel that has been created to show how glaciers are created. At the bottom of the tunnel, lunch awaits served from tables carved out of the ice. Back to Reykjavik late in the afternoon and dinner again in a nearby restaurant.
A fleet of superjeeps awaits, seating from 10 – 15 people each. We‘ll visit the Geysir thermal area with its ejecting geysir and steaming vents, the Gullfoss waterfall and onto the glacier. Once at base camp, board snowmobiles and thunder out onto the icy dessert of the glacier for a hour or so, an unforgettable experience. A surprise glacier buffet awaits for lunch, featuring Icelandic specialities chased down with a moderate amount of local liquids. Back to Reykjavik.
A farewell dinner in the evening at one of the City‘s best restaurants, the Kolabrautin, located at the Harpa Cultural and Convention Center, overlooking the downtown marina.
After a memorable trip to Iceland it is time for a very early breakfast we drive to the airport for our flight back home.
