For all those who want to travel with a bit more comfort, we are pleased to offer for the first time an autumn and winter tour with hotel accommodations during the whole tour. All rooms with shower/WC and the little bit of extra privacy requested by many of our guests. This tour is equally suited for riders and non-riders since there is always the option of taking part in non-riding activities. Bonfire, Traditional Stories, and great Icelandic food combined with visits to the Secret Lagoon and a Northern Lights hunt in the saddle in the dark are fascinating features of this tour! On the way to Reykjavik, we stop and visit Gullfoss and the Geysir Hot Spring Area.
Pick up from BSI around 6 p.m. and drive to Kalfholl farm. The staff and the tour guide will be introduced. In the evening we have dinner together and afterward, you can enjoy the hot tub. If there are no clouds in the sky, you already have the chance to see the first Northern Lights.
In the morning, after a hearty breakfast, you will meet your guide who will introduce you to the Icelandic horses and their special gaits. Discover Icelandic winter riding in a relaxed atmosphere by the river Thjorsa, which is the longest river in Iceland. Afterwards, head to the Secret Lagoon and relax in the warm geothermal water. In the evening, you will have dinner together at the Kálfhóll farm and go for an evening walk to look out for the Northern Lights.
We start our ride into the day along wintry landscapes until lunch. We ride across many pastures where we can observe our own horses. Back at the farm, we have a hearty dinner. In the evening, the hot pot and the possibility of watching the Northern Lights beckon. Overnight stay at Kalfholl Farm.
After breakfast, you will go for a last ride along the Thjorsa river and enjoy the breathtaking winter landscape one last time. After lunch, say goodbye to the horses and hop on the bus to visit the Golden Circle: the three most impressive natural sights in South Iceland. The Golden Circle consists of the Geysir geothermal area, the golden waterfall Gullfoss and Thingvellir National Park. Geysir is a geothermal area with boiling mud pits and the living geyser Strokkur, which spews water 15 - 20 metres into the air every few minutes. At Gullfoss you have the opportunity to see the mighty waterfall. You will then drive to Thingvellir National Park, where you can experience geological phenomena. Thingvellir has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2004 due to its geological uniqueness and historical significance. Arrival in Reykjavík at approx. 6 p.m.
Suitable for:
Advanced riders: Can easily control the horse at a walk, trot (tölt) and on short canters and feel comfortable in the saddle for long hours.

Double room, made-up beds, shared shower/WC for two nights, hotel in the greater Reykjavík area for two nights (single room only possible in Reykjavík)
