Depending on flight times you can visit the Blue Lagoon Spa on your way to the city or on departure day.

VOLCANO CRATER - FJORDS - MOUNTAINS

Glaumbaer museum

Today you will be picked up from your hotel by the guide at 9 am. We start our journey westwards along the scenic Hvalfjordur fjord and the town of Borgarnes. At Grabrok Crater we take a short hike through the moss-covered lava fields before making our way to Glaumbaer, one of Iceland's most beautiful peat house farms and museum.

Along the enchanting fjord landscape, the road leads us over mountains to Akureyri, the capital of the north. The evening is at leisure. Take a stroll through the town center or relax in the nearby Forest Lagoon.

Akureyri - Goðafoss - Lake Mývatn

Lake Myvatn

In the morning, you will have time to explore the town and enjoy the panoramic view over the Eyjafjordur Fjord. Optionally, you can go on a whale-watching tour.

In the afternoon, we will continue to the Godafoss waterfall, known as the waterfall of the gods. Our next stop will be the Myvatn area, which includes the lake of the same name, strange lava formations at Kalfastrond, and the pseudocraters at Skutustadir. We will end the afternoon with a relaxing dip in the geothermal Mývatn Nature Baths, which offer a fantastic view over the area

LAVA LABYRINTH - HOT SPINGS - EAST ICELAND

Dettifoss ©Andreas Clematide

We will spend the start of the day in the lava labyrinth near Dimmuborgir. With a bit of luck, we might see one of the trolls that are said to live in the "dark castle". In the afternoon, we'll make our way to the Namaskard hot springs area, where mud pools bubble away and solfataras steam.

We drive through the uninhabited highlands and moon-like landscapes to East Island, where we will spend the night. From June to August, a detour to the mighty Dettifoss waterfall is included.

Eastfjords - Jökulsarlon - Diamond beach

Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon

Today, we will be exploring the small fishing villages nestled in the stunning fjord landscapes. We'll drive along the winding roads of the East Fjords and visit a unique stone and mineral collection. In the afternoon, we'll have the opportunity to see the Vatnajokull glacier, the largest glacier in Europe.

Our day will conclude with a visit to the Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon, where we can admire the floating icebergs. If we're lucky, we may even spot seals swimming in the lagoon or resting on the ice floes. From May to September, the program includes a boat trip to the lagoon. Adjacent to the lagoon is the renowned "Diamond Beach," a black sandy beach where ice chunks frequently wash up.

Vatnajökull National Park - South Coast - Lava Show

Seljalandsfoss waterfall

We are also accompanied on our route today by the Vatnajokull glacier, which towers over the Icelandic landscape in the background. In the afternoon, we drive past many natural wonders: the Eldhraun lava field, the sandy desert on the south coast, glaciers, and waterfalls. In Vik, we visit the unique lava show, where we can see molten lava and feel the heat.

Next, we stop in the small village of Skogar, where the Skogafoss waterfall is located. We then continue directly to the impressive Seljalandsfoss waterfall. An adventurous path makes it possible to hike behind the waterfall - but only for those who are prepared to get a little wet.

ICELANDIC HORSES - GOLDEN CIRCLE

Today's destinations are the highlights of the Golden Circle: the Geysir area, the Gullfoss waterfall, and Thingvellir National Park.

We will start the day in Fridheimar, where we will learn exciting facts about Icelandic horses and visit the local geothermal greenhouse. Then we will continue to the geyser area. There, the Strokkur geyser erupts every 5-7 minutes. The journey will then continue to Gullfoss waterfall and the fascinating Thingvellir National Park, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its significance in Icelandic history.

The journey will end in Reykjavik, where we will take a short tour of the city before returning to the hotel.

Departure

With many unique experiences in mind, it's time to say goodbye to the land of fire and ice. A shuttle will take you from the hotel to Keflavik Airport, from where you will start your journey home. Depending on flight time you can visit the Blue Lagoon on the way to the airport.
